Sawyer absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident canine companion. He is learning to trust people and has made tremendous progress, but he can still be a little hesitant in new situations. When he’s feeling unsure, Sawyer will often lay flat on the ground and act like his legs have forgotten how to work until he’s comfortable. Having another dog around helps him tremendously—they show him the ropes and help bring out his playful, happy personality.

Once Sawyer feels safe, his silly puppy side shines! He loves toys, especially puzzle toys that dispense treats and squeaky toys he can carry around. He’s very food motivated and already knows “sit,” “touch,” and “wait.” He’s also making great progress with potty training.

Sawyer currently lives with a cat and does well with his feline friend. He loves his crate and considers it his safe space, often choosing to relax there on his own. While he’s not a big fan of wearing a collar, he does well on a harness.

After a good play session, Sawyer is happy to curl up for snuggles. One of his cutest quirks is that he likes to “smile” when he’s especially happy—you’ll know it when you see it!
