MEET THIS MONTH’S FOSTER SPOTLIGHT!
LUCRETIA AND KEVIN
Foster Spotlight: Kevin & Lucretia – Making a Difference, One Dog at a Time!
At Karl’s Canine Krew, we know that fosters are the heart of rescue—and this month, we are shining a spotlight on Kevin and Lucretia, two of our amazing fosters who have opened their hearts and home to pups in need.
For the past seven months, Kevin and Lucretia have been a safe haven for dogs in transition. Their love for animals runs deep, and as Lucretia says, she just can’t stand seeing a fur baby in need of help. They pour their hearts into every foster, giving them the love, security, and trust they deserve. But as any foster knows, letting them go is the hardest part—because while their goal is to prepare each dog for a forever home, saying goodbye never gets easier.
Originally from a small town in Wisconsin, military life brought them to Colorado a few years ago. Their home is full of love, adventure, and a whole lot of four-legged family members! Their resident pets—Oliver, a small but mighty senior pup about to turn 13; Bella, their incredibly loving, deaf 10-year-old; and Coco, a 10-year-old sassy kitty who lost her twin last year—rule the house. And right now, they’re sharing their home with their current foster, Teddy, while also having briefly fostered Luna (Cowgirl/Pumpkin).
For Kevin and Lucretia, fostering is about creating a bridge to a better life—helping dogs learn to trust and love again before sending them off to their forever families. They spend their time hiking, exploring, and cuddling up with their fosters because, as they say, these dogs are their happy place.
Fosters like Kevin and Lucretia are the reason Karl’s Canine Krew has been able to rescue over 300 dogs so far. Their kindness, patience, and dedication change lives every single day. Join us in celebrating them and thanking them for everything they do!
