KARL’S CANINE KREW
FOSTER SPOTLIGHT
Karl’s Canine Krew is proud to be a 100% foster based rescue, and we have the best fosters around! To celebrate our paw-some foster families, we will be “spotlighting” a new foster each month!
MEET THIS MONTH’S FOSTER SPOTLIGHT!
GINA AND MINNIE
Meet Gina and her amazing mom Minnie! Gina’s mom and dad moved to Colorado in 1966 with an assignment from the Army. They ended up loving this area so much that they stayed. They did have a temporary hiatus from the area when they went to work in New York City, but Gina’s mom wanted to come back here. Since they’ve been back, they’ve been raising chickens, feeding and caring for a few feral cats that were in the neighborhood, and assisting with adoptions of senior dogs at their local pet shelter. Working with a dog rescue was the logical next step. They have loved each of our fosters no matter how short or long a time they have had them. “Fostering is its own special reward and Karl’s Crew is a fantastic team of people. I am glad to be part of this team and hope to see many more dogs find their way to forever homes.”
Some Quick Facts about Gina and Minnie:
Q: How long have you been fostering?
A: We started late summer of 2024 when we saw the team with adoptable animals outside of the pet store in Fountain. It seems like such an honorable calling and we wanted to help.
Q:What made you want to become a foster family?
A: We are animal lovers. If we could provide a temporary home and love to a dog while waiting for the forever home to find them, we wanted to help.
Q:What is the hardest part about fostering?
A: Knowing that our job is only temporary. It’s easy to get attached and want to keep all the sweet souls passing through our lives.
Q: What is the best part about fostering?
A:Seeing my job through to completion. You want to cheer each time someone is successfully adopted!
