Gidget may appear a bit stoic at first, quietly observing the world around her, but give her a little time and her smiley, playful side absolutely shines through. She’s a sweet, gentle soul who builds deep bonds once she feels safe, becoming an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion. When she loves you, she shows it with cuddles and plenty of gentle love nibbles. 💙

She would love another dog friend in the home to help boost her confidence, though it’s not required. Gidget has a wonderful sense of humor — she’s hilarious with toys and balls and will happily toss them to herself when no one else is available to play. She also enjoys squeezing herself under the bed for comfort, even though at nearly 60 pounds she barely fits.

Gidget is 99% house trained, uses a doggy door, and rarely has accidents. She prefers to sleep on a dog bed near her people at night, but goes easily into a crate during the day while her foster is at work. She is very food motivated, loves treats, adores ice cubes, and already knows “sit.”

Car rides continue to improve — she started out very carsick, but over the last month she’s made great progress. She may still get drooly, which now seems to be more from anxiety than motion sickness, and she does best with calm, low-stress trips.

She’s wonderful with kids and cats, loves the snow, and does have a mischievous streak — Gidget will happily steal a shoe if given the opportunity (all in good fun).
