Smokey is a handsome fellow who loves people! He loves getting lots of attention and pets, cuddles and kisses, and especially treats! He is more cautious about meeting other dogs, so careful and controlled introductions would be best.

Smokey is currently fostered with a vibrant 3.5-year-old child and is very chill and gentle with her. Smokey is also fostered with chickens and is good with them.

After his daily walk, Smokey is happy to just relax around the house. He keeps himself busy watching the world go by out the window and taking naps in the sunshine. Rolling around in the grass is the greatest, and playing catch is so much fun, he'll even toss the ball to himself. He's pretty good on a leash, once he's done smelling everything. He would be great at training for scent work!

Smokey is very well-behaved around the house and seems eager to please. He's just started obedience training, but he understands casual instructions like "come over here" or "off" and always sits when told to. Smokey hangs out in his kennel in the kitchen while his foster cooks, but he does not like to be left in the kennel for long periods. He prefers to sleep where his people are.

Smokey was a stray, so his history is unknown. He seems to have developed some anxiety along the way and especially does not like to be left alone. He will need a patient family willing to work with him to gain the confidence he needs to feel secure.
