Smokey, AKA “Smoke-Smoke, Smokeshow, Smokehouse, Smokester, and Smoke-a-roo” is such a good and easy gentleman. He has the softest fur you’ll ever feel and the coolest spotted coat. He shows absolutely no food aggression and takes treats with the gentlest kiss. He is fully housebroken and knows basic commands, such as “sit”, “stay”, and “come here”. He walks well in a leash after he is given a chance to sniff everything. This guy is down for just about anything. Want to hike? He’ll join you on any terrain. Movie night? He would love to be your little spoon. Sick day? He’ll be your fellow couch potato. He’s so quiet that sometimes you’ll wonder if he’s even there! Sir Smokey is excellent with kids of all ages and does particularly well with his foster family’s vibrant and active 3 year old along with the neighborhood kids. Smokey shares a yard with chickens and is very respectful of them, preferring to sniff gently without issue. He has been briefly cat tested and was rather excited by the cat, so slow introductions would be best. Smokey is very dog selective and gets excited by other pups in close proximity, so a house with no dogs or a house with calm fur siblings with slow introductions would be best. Smokey has developed some separation anxiety along the way but has absolutely no anxiety when he is allowed to stay outside. Smokey would live his best life in a house with a fenced in yard with the potential for a doggie door. He currently happily hangs out in a crate under a covered patio when his foster parents are away from the house and is happy to enjoy a Kong ball and watch the squirrels. He’s a gentle, happy boy who would love your attention!
