Gravy is definitely a mama's boy. He loves to follow mama everywhere. He has very intense eyes and they will always be pinned on you. He is a total sweetheart love muffin.
He enjoys the rest of the family and understands they are part of his pack, but in his eyes, mama is the alpha.
He is very playful, and would love it if you throw a ball for him, then watch him run and pick it up and put it somewhere else in the yard and then watch you go pick it up.
He runs very fast and could definitely use a large field where he can stretch his legs, whether it be a huge backyard or a dog park.
Gravy loves other dogs to the point where sometimes they ask him to please stop pestering them to play. He's sensible enough not to get kicked by calm horses. He likes cats but has not yet figured out they don't like him as much when he chases them. He does need a lot of play time, but he's also happy spending hours on the couch with you.
We've only seen him around our 10 year old boy, and they both roughhouse and tumble around the yard. Gravy's favorite game is "tackle."
Gravy likes to sleep on his back with his feet up in the air.
He enjoys car trips, especially if he can lean over mama's shoulder.
Gravy loves to chew on toys, wood, rope toys, and hard plastic. He has learned to be gentle with his people's items, and he can carry shoes around without destroying them.
Gravy is not very treat motivated, except for cheese. He loves cheese.
Gravy more or less sleeps through the night, but he may roam a little to make sure the perimeter is safe. He prefers to sleep with his people, on his fuzzy blanket on the big people bed.
Gravy is house trained, and he knows basic commands. He also knows "Gravy!" Which can mean anything between stop running away to come here and let me give you scritches.
We haven't gone through fireworks season with him, he's been pretty mellow with thunderstorms.
He definitely needs a yard and places to run, rather than just walk sedately on a leash.
I think Gravy would be happy in any kind of family as long as he's not left alone much. He just has so much love to give.
