Calliope is a one-in-a-million girl: she has the brains and the looks! She is house-trained and crate-trained, but does need to be guided into the crate. She still has some puppy behaviors which she is maturing out of, such as occasional mouthing to get your attention. This amazing girl loves to learn and is mastering some basic commands already. Calliope is also working on going to her crate on voice instruction, leash manners, and off-leash recall. She enjoys the stimulation of training and is very motivated by trats and attention. Calliope is very tolerant of children, including loud noises, sudden movements, and the occasional toy that might land on her. If kids are playing, she does try to join in, but so far has had a good sense of when to play more gently. Calliope is a cuddle-bug, and will happily sleep on your feet. She does stay off of furniture, but she would absolutly love to stretch out on the couch, lay her head on your lap, and soak up the pats. She likes to be near her humans and will follow you around - she is a perfect companion pup! She gets along extremely well with other dogs, but her interactions with cats are unknown. She considers all other dogs friends or possible friends, and she would adore having a playmate or at least another canine cuddle buddy. Calliope can also be happy as a solo pup, though - she just needs a family who can give her plenty of love and attention. Calliope does have a strong chase instinct, and will dart after squirrels, rabbits, and birds. She is very fast and has great focus during a chase. She will sit below trees and track squirrels until they leave and she can no longer see them. Calliope is extremely adaptable and can match your energy. Tired after work? She will sit and cuddle you. Like to run? Try to keep up with her! She does get the zoomies, so would do best in a home with a fenced yard when she can get the wiggles out. Kids and dogs are a plus in her opinion, but Calliope really just wants to find her very own human(s). She is an incredibly special pup with a happy, easygoing personality who is so eager to share all the cuddles with her own family. Come meet your new bestie in the Westie, the one and only Calliope!
